United Way of Central Kansas Impact Grant Program

The UWCK Impact Grant Program offers funding of up to $1,000 per year to eligible nonprofit or governmental programs serving Barton and Pawnee Counties. These grants support meaningful projects that align with Health, Education, or Financial Stability — the building blocks of a strong community.

The total awarded through this program will not exceed $5,000 per year.

Who Can Apply?

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations

  • Governmental agency programs

  • Applicants must serve Barton or Pawnee Counties

  • Grants are not available to individuals

What Can Be Funded?

  • Specific programs or projects — not event sponsorships

  • Initiatives that address unmet needs, offer innovative solutions, and demonstrate measurable outcomes

  • Projects that align with UWCK priorities and show potential for sustainability

Note: Applicants should request the amount truly needed (up to $1,000) and provide supporting details to justify the funding request.

When to Apply

  • Applications are accepted year-round

  • Reviews take place twice a year — in May and November

  • Funding decisions are based on a scoring system tied to UWCK’s priorities

What We Do Not Fund

  • Event sponsorships

  • Annual fund drives

  • Building funds

  • Operating deficits or retroactive support

  • Direct or grassroots lobbying

  • Religious purposes

  • Hospitals, medical facilities, or medical/academic research
